Looking for a Grasscity alternative? The biggest gap is time. Grasscity gives you 48 hours after delivery to start a return, and SmokeMEGA gives you 14 days, with free shipping from $30 instead of $50.
Grasscity has real strengths too. It has sold online since 2000, carries brands like RooR and Pulsar, holds more Trustpilot reviews and starts cheaper on entry-level bongs. Below is every figure from both stores, checked on October 13, 2026.

48 Hours vs 14 Days: The Return Window
Grasscity accepts returns on unused items only, and you have 48 hours from delivery to report one. Every return carries a restocking fee, though the site does not say how much. On a standard return, the postage comes out of your refund or store credit.
At SmokeMEGA you get 14 days, no restocking fee and free return postage. If a bong turns out taller than you pictured, you have two weeks to decide instead of two days.
Grasscity does give you three ways to settle a return: an exchange, store credit or a refund to your card.
What Happens When Glass Arrives Broken
Grasscity asks you to inspect the order right away, photograph the damage with your invoice and contact support within 48 hours. It then replaces the item or sends a refund or exchange, with a free return label.
SmokeMEGA replaces glass broken in shipping from a photo, reported within 14 days. That matters if a box sits at your door over a weekend or you are away when it lands.
Grasscity also sells Route Protection at checkout. Its FAQ says that cover only applies while the parcel is on the way from its warehouse to your home.
Shipping: $30 vs $50, and How Long It Takes
SmokeMEGA ships free on US orders over $30. Grasscity ships free over $50, so a $35 or $45 order ships free at one store and not the other, unless you pay for Elite. Grasscity does not publish its rate for orders under $50.
On timing, SmokeMEGA orders usually arrive in 2 to 3 days. Grasscity quotes processing first: 2 to 3 business days on its returns page and 3 to 5 on its FAQ. After that, Standard takes 3 to 7 business days, Priority 2 to 3 and Express 1 to 2.
Grasscity ships in plain boxes with no store name outside, though "Grasscity" does show on your card statement.
Member Prices: $30 Elite vs a Free Membership
Grasscity runs two tiers. Cabana Club is free and shows a member price under the regular price on most products. Elite costs $30 a year and adds Elite prices, free delivery and VIP perks. When we checked, renewals were on a limited-time offer of $15 a year.
SmokeMEGA has one free membership with 10 to 30% off, and no paid tier. Free shipping from $30 applies to everyone, member or not.
Prices Compared
| Product | SmokeMEGA | Grasscity |
|---|---|---|
| Cheapest bong | $13.99 | $9.00 regular (acrylic steamroller); $6.90 member price on an 8-inch acrylic bong |
| Cheap bongs section | Large under-$50 range, from $13.99 | 66 products; 18 of the first 20 are acrylic |
| Dab rigs | $19.99 to $119.99, banger included | 296 in the section; $12.99 to $209.95 regular on page one, cheapest items are nectar collectors and straws |
Grasscity wins on the lowest sticker price, mostly through acrylic bongs. SmokeMEGA's bongs under $25 are mostly silicone, and most of its bongs under $50 are glass.
On rigs, every SmokeMEGA dab rig ships with a free quartz banger, so there is nothing extra to buy before your first dab.
Who Runs Grasscity
Grasscity started in Amsterdam in 2000 and was one of the first online headshops. Today it belongs to High Tide Inc., the same group behind Smoke Cartel, DankStop and Daily High Club.
That is why the four stores share Cabana Club, Elite and the 5% price-beat. SmokeMEGA is an independent store with its own warehouse and storefront in Los Angeles.
Reviews and Reputation
Grasscity leads here, and it is not close on volume. It scores 4.2 from 6,543 Trustpilot reviews, and its site claims more than 49,000 five-star reviews. SmokeMEGA scores 4.1 from 82 on Trustpilot, plus about 400 reviews on its own site averaging 4.68.
The complaints on Grasscity's recent Trustpilot reviews mostly cover slow delivery, slow support replies and returns refused after the 48-hour window.
When Grasscity Is the Better Pick
- You want premium names like RooR, Pulsar, Empire Glassworks or Jerome Baker.
- You are buying a vaporizer from Puffco, Storz & Bickel or Pax.
- You want the cheapest possible bong and acrylic is fine.
- You found a lower price elsewhere and want the 5% price-beat.
- You put more weight on thousands of reviews and 26 years of trading.
The Verdict
For budget glass, SmokeMEGA is the easier store to buy from. You get 14 days instead of 48 hours, no restocking fee, free return postage, free shipping from $30 and a banger with every rig.
For big brands, vaporizers and the lowest entry price, Grasscity has the deeper shelf. Choose by what is in your cart. You can also see how SmokeMEGA stacks up against Smoke Cartel, Grasscity's sister store.
