How to make a water bong-step by step guide
Smoke MEGA |
Have you ever been in that annoying situation when the urge to smoke hits you, yet there is no bong insight? Well, don't worry about it you are not alone! Many smokers have to deal with this problem either when they are on a very tight budget or their favorite bong suddenly breaks down. Fortunately, you can make a water bong just by using a few items available at home in just a few steps.
In this tutorial, we are going to show you how to make a functional water bong using the simplest of materials. At the end of this, you will have a functional bong that's just perfect for a smooth and enjoyable experience. Let's get started!
What You’ll Need
Before we dive into the steps, gather the following materials:
- Plastic Bottle (any size, but 16-20 oz works best)
- Pen or Straw (to act as a downstem)
- Aluminum Foil (for the bowl)
- Knife or Scissors (to cut the plastic)
- Tape or Glue (optional for sealing)
- Water (to fill the bong)
Step-by-Step Guide to Make a Water Bong
Step 1: Prepare the Plastic Bottle
Choose a plastic bottle that's easy to handle. Remove the label if you want a clear view of the water level. Make sure the bottle is clean and empty.
Step 2: Create a Hole for the Downstem
Using a knife or a pair of scissors, punch a small hole just about 2-3 inches from the bottom of the bottle. The hole is to be such that the pen or straw is fitted snugly.
Hint: If you make the hole too big, you are able to cover it later with tape or glue.
Step 3: Make the Downstem
Take the ink out of a pen, leaving only the casing. If you have no pen, then a fairly robust straw will do. Place the pen or straw in the hole at an angle such that one end falls inside the bottle and the other protrudes.
Note: The part that falls inside the bottle should be submerged in water once you fill it up later.
Step 4: Make the Bowl
Fold a small square of aluminum foil into a bowl shape. It should be deep enough to hold your material but not too big. Poke a few small holes in the foil with a needle or pin for airflow.
Place the foil bowl over the open end of the pen or straw that's sticking out, making sure it doesn't fall off during use.
Step 5: Add Water
Fill the bottle with water until the downstem inside is submerged. Be careful not to overfill—it should cover the bottom of the downstem but not reach the bowl.
Step 6: Make a Mouthpiece
The mouthpiece is simply the top of the bottle. You’ll inhale through the opening, so there’s no extra setup needed here.
Step 7: Test for Airflow
Before you use your homemade water bong, always check for airflow. Cover the bowl with your finger, inhale through the mouthpiece, and see if the air can pass smoothly through the downstem.
If you feel any resistance, that is because the holes in the bowl may be blocked or because the downstem is not properly sealed.
Step 8: Load the Bowl and Enjoy
Now it's time to fire up your bong! Place your material onto the aluminum foil bowl, light it, and inhale through the mouthpiece. As you inhale, the smoke will bubble through the water, cooling and filtering the hit for a smoother hit.
Tips for a Better Experience
Use Cold Water: This makes the smoke cooler and more enjoyable.
Add Ice: If your bottle is wide enough, drop in a few ice cubes for extra cooling.
Keep It Clean: After each use, rinse the bottle and downstem to prevent buildup.
